Here’s Your 5 Steps to Controlling Your Frustration for the Better

Frustration comes up when people or a certain situation doesn’t go your way, or you might want something but don’t know how to take action to get it.
This is why it is so important to learn how to understand where your frustration is coming from and to know how to control it.
So, if you’re feeling frustrated and ready to take control, you can do this by taking certain steps

So, if you’re feeling frustrated and ready to take control, you can do this by taking certain steps:

No expectations

It’s a common problem for many to have certain expectations of a person or situation. Now you may have expectations, but once you start setting these to high then you set yourself up for constant disappointment and, of course, frustration.
So, firstly ensure that you are being realistic about what you are setting out for yourself and for others.

Live in the now

Secondly, stop focusing on situations from the past as there is nothing you can do about them.
Instead of trying to gain control of something that has been and gone, create a new way of relating to these frustrating situations, so that should it happen again, you can understand it with a fresh perspective.

Make change

This doesn’t mean that you should stop putting yourself in those situations, but instead use them and grow from them. So, encourage yourself back in these commonly frustrating scenarios, and take a look at how things can be different.
For example, if someone is constantly letting you down, tell them that what they are doing is making you feel a certain way and set your expectations lower. So, when they do make a change once you have spoken to them, you can be delighted and move forward!

Achieve!

Frustration can also be a huge motivator! So use it to its full advantage. For example, I use it to motivate me to do YouTube videos or go to the gym.

Once you set this in your mind that frustration can be a driving force, and you will know what you can do to help dispel that frustration once it hits.

Have fun

The blunt answer to why you feel frustrated about certain things, is that you are not having fun or not getting what you want.

So, once you ensure that you enjoy what you are doing and having fun then you won’t dread doing certain situations so much.

Sure, the frustration will still be there but you will be able to take control over it.

Rather than pushing away from feeling frustrated, let it guide you through bettering your life.
